Will was the son of Samuel Allen and Sarah Jane Douthit Montgomery. His parents are buried in Starr Cemetery. He shares a stone with his first wife, Callie Bell Bowman Montgomery, who he married 1 November 1908 in Anderson County. Their sons, William Arthur Montgomery Jr. and Samuel J. Montgomery, and daughters, Callie Bell Montgomery and Zelma Montgomery Knott, are buried in Garden of Memories. After Callie's death, Will married Amy Pfiffer. His stone has a Masonic symbol and a Woodsmen of the World emblem. He served as Justice of the Peace in Elkhart, TX.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Friday, 8 January 1960:

Will A. Montgomery, a retired Elkhart merchant, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of his daughter in Elkhart. He was 79.

Funeral services are pending the arrival of relatives and will be announced by Hassell & Foster.

Montgomery, a native of Elkhart, was in the grocery business for a number of years prior to his retirement.

He is survived by a son, W. A. Montgomery, Jr., of Venezuela; two daughters, Mrs. S. B. Knott of Elkhart and Mrs. Clayton Dismuke of Uvalde; four granddaughters, Mrs. E. G. Sowell of Elkhart, Mrs. Wayne Merritt of San Marcos, Mrs. Dick Washburn of Maracaibo, Venezuela, and Miss Linda Montgomery of San Marcos; and two great grandchildren.
