Elisha Sisco was the son of James Calvin Sisco and Selina Ann Riley. He was born in Jackson County, probably near Haydenburg. He moved with his family to Crittenden County just before 1860. Although he moved back to Jackson County for a short time he finally settled in Monroe County, where many of his kinfolk had done. Around 1864 he married Melvina Emeline Wilson, also of Jackson County origin. To this marriage were born:
Ellen Sheridan Sisco (1868-1911)
Luella Jackson Sisco (1871-1949)
Thomas Vachel Sisco (1873-1928)
William Bradford Sisco (1876-1948)
Some time after 1880 Elisha move back to Monroe County where he spends the rest of his life.
