William died of pneumonia. He served in the Missouri Infantry.

" As told by Ernest L. Yeisley in 1958 (William's son).

"Grandfather John married Salome Kemmerer, Hamilton Twp., Monroe County, Pa. Their first child George A. born 10/27/1811. Some 12 years later they moved to Ohio where my father William was born near Ashland in Ashland County, Ohio December 25, 1830, being next to the youngest of 13. My father was married twice, had 8 children by his first wife (all deceased, Walter being the last of these, April 20, 1957 lacking 2 days of being 88) and three by his last wife, I being the youngest born April 6, 1886.
My father came down the Ohio River in a canal boat about 1846, up the Mississippi to where Keokuk, Iowa now is, then to Mt. Vernon, Iowa where his eldest brother George A. was living and had been since 1841. A brother David was also there. Then David came to Nordaway County, Missouri. My father came to Davies County, Missouri later in 1849."
