L. R. MEEKS, husband of Nancy Laurendy Pierce Meeks (1842-1940). Married in 1860 in Arkansas. Father of 14 children. Moved to Texas in 1891, and to Taylor County about 1904.
Lindsey Rush Meeks served in B Co., 15th Arkansas Infantry, CSA, during the Civil War. He enlisted on 17 Oct 1861 at Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas. He and his unit were captured at Ft. Donaldson on 11 Feb 1862 and held as POWs until exchanged on 11 Sep 1862.
