Eddie Ray Ames, age 63, of Roosevelt, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
Ray was born February 2, 1957, in Roosevelt, Utah. He was the son of Floyd Eddie and Stella LaRene Ames. Ray married the love of his life Sandy McDonald on July 6, 1979, in Elko, Nevada. Celebrating 41 years together.
Ray's greatest joy in life was his family, he loved to pester and joke with them all. And hands down, if you ask any of the Grandkids who makes the best spaghetti, its "Grandpa Ray".
Ray's most favorite thing to do was get his chainsaw out and head to the mountain to cut and haul wood. He loved being outside, from hunting, to fishing, camping or just being outside in his Yard and garden. His yard always looked perfect!
Ray is survived by his wife, Sandy Ames, Roosevelt; children, Jared Ames Hurley, Cody (Cassie) Ames, Shylo Ames, all of Roosevelt; 10 grandchildren, siblings, Walter (Lori) Ames Oregon; Jackie Smith, Gail Ames, Doris (Dean) Fitzgerald, all of Roosevelt; Elva (Ray) Farnsworth, Missouri; brother-in-law, Everett Unruh, Ballard.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lydia Ames, Leila Unruh, mother-in-law, Beverly McDonald, sister- in- law, Sharon Saloga, brothers-in-law, Gene Smith, and Rick Saloga.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 12:30 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. A viewing will be held that morning from 11:30- 12:45.
