Angier – Billy Joe “BJ” Castlebury, 94, passed away at home on Sunday, June 28, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua Gardner Castlebury and Iva Elizabeth LaRue Castlebury; brothers, Elton, Ray, and Cecil Castlebury, and sons Cecil and Joe T. Castlebury. A loving husband and father, BJ proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a jack of all trades that could fix anything. BJ loved attending turkey shoots, spending time outdoors farming, hatching and raising a variety of birds, and spending time with his dog Marley.

BJ is survived by his wife of fifty years, Jackie; daughter, Nicole Kirk (Billy) of Angier; Rita Tuttle of Guymon, OK, Nancy Gossett of Goddard, KS., son, Billy Rogers (Kim) of Fuquay, Billy Castlebury of Monet, MO.; grandchildren, Paige Powell, Chloe Kirk, Leigh Ann Rogers, Billie Jean Rogers, and Rebecca R. Volpe; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Levi, and Lilly Ann; and brother, Roy Lee Castlebury.

A special thanks to Jennifer Jackson, Ann Dupree, Robbie O’Quinn, and Janice McNair with Community Homecare & Hospice. The family would also like to thank personal caregivers Nancy Belle, Becky Little, and Kathy Duryea.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 am Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier, NC.
