September 19, 1948 - June 22, 2014

Cecil Steven Castlebury, 65, of Guymon passed away Sunday evening, June 22, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The first born son of Billy Joe Castlebury and Catherine Madeline (Clawson) Castlebury, he was born September 19, 1948 in Guymon, Oklahoma.

Cecil graduated from Lubbock High School in Lubbock, Texas with the Class of 1969. He married Sherry Lynn Jouett on December 26, 1968 in Lubbock, Texas. They moved from Lubbock to North Carolina where Cecil worked with his dad in the construction and plumbing business. In 1979, they moved back to Guymon and Cecil began working at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Cecil lived in Goodwell, Oklahoma and worked in the OPSU physical plant for 13 years until an injury caused him to become disabled. Cecil had lived with his brother in Florida, his sister in Kansas and his sister in Guymon. In 2011 Cecil suffered a stroke and for the last 3 years, has resided at the Heritage Community nursing home in Guymon.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Castlebury.

Survivors include his father, BJ Castlebury of Angier, North Carolina; two sons: Stephen Castlebury and wife, Heather of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Josh Castlebury and wife, Allisha of Hooker, Oklahoma; one daughter, Rebekah Bell and husband, Patrick of Follett, Texas; thirteen grandchildren: Kagen and Kelsey Castlebury, Kalia, Kamron, Kyleen, Jaelyn, Shawn and Emily Castlebury, Chance, Kambri and Morgan Braley, and Jessa and Kendall Bell. He is also survived by two brothers, Joe Castlebury and wife, Cynthia of Orlando, Florida and Billy Joe Castlebury, Jr. of Monett, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Gossett and husband, Craig Staats of Goddard, Kansas and Rita Tuttle and husband, Steve of Guymon and numerous uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday morning, July 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.
