Virginia Mae (Boyer) Douglas was born on August 28, 1931 in Ellsinore, Missouri to Floyd and Delia (Norman) Boyer and passed away June 23, 2020 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years.

Virginia grew up and attended school in a one-room schoolhouse in White Mills. She was the proud mother of six children: Floyd Jr., Albert, Arthur, Reldon, William, and Anisa. Her family were most important to her and she loved spending time with them. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Virginia took great pride in caring for her family, she worked at the International Shoe Factory for several years. Virginia also worked at Salem Care Center and Seville Care Center as well as Home Health. Caring for the elderly was her specialty, she truly enjoyed spending time caring for them.

Virginia enjoyed working with her hands' quilting. She liked the outdoors and spent time in her flower gardens and watching the birds nest in the birdhouses. Virginia could also be found in the kitchen cooking and watching cooking shows. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church.

Virginia is survived by her children: Floyd Carter Jr. of Salem, MO, Albert Carter and wife Mary of Salem, MO, Arthur “Buster” Givens and wife Karen of Salem, MO, Reldon Dean Givens and wife Vickey of Portageville, MO, William David Voyles Jr. and wife Cindy of Salem, MO, and Anisa Vannatta and husband Jason of St. James, MO; one brother: Clyde Franklin Boyer of Caseyville, IL; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death, parents: Floyd and Delia Boyer; two brothers: Ace and Burton Boyer; and one grandson: Albert Jason Carter.

Virginia will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
