Marvin Clifford Wear, resident of El Sobrante, passed away on October 7, 2008. He was born in Oklahoma on December 1, 1930.

He came to California in 1948 as a member of the United States Navy, stationed in Point Richmond. It was there that he met his beloved wife of 58 years, Joyce.

After serving honorably in the Korean War, Marvin returned to California, where he had a long career in the automotive repair industry, retiring in 1988 from his position as Equipment Superintendent for the City of Richmond.

Marvin is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, his son, Michael Wear, his daughter and son-in-law Diane and Matthew Larrabee, his grandchildren, Tamra Wear, Alex Larrabee and Andrew Larrabee, his brother Jimmy Wear, and many loving friends and family who will miss his absolute honesty and fierce integrity, his generous and gentle spirit, and his playful sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers's Association or to the charity of your choice.
