Mrs. Lengert was BORN 8/25/1874 in Germany, the daughter of the late M/M. Fredrich Diehl. The family settled in Houston when they arrived from Germany when Mrs. Lengert was an infant. She had lived in Rockdale for 82 years, coming from Houston. She would have reached the age of 99 years had she lived until 8/25/1973. She married Otto Lengert in 1895 in Rockdale and built the house at 601 Ackerman St., where she lived all her life in Rockdale and where all her children were born. 2 daughters, Miss Margaret Lengert and Mrs. Ruby Hutton still live in the old homeplace in Rockdale. Husband, Otto, was manager of the hardware and farm implement dept. of the old Henne & Meyer firm for approximately 40 years and was well known in the business life of Rockdale. He preceded her in death in 7/1935, also a son, Eugene O. "Sonny" Lengert died in 1959.
SURVIVORS: 2 daughters of Rockdale; son, Edward R. Lengert of Dallas; several nieces and nephews.
