Annette Mildred Ellis, 85, of Woodway, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at the Wesley Woods Alzheimer's Center. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Suzanne Smith of Providence Hospice officiating.

Annette was born in Petty, Texas to the late James Z. and Vera Kuykendall, but she lived in Waco most of her life. She married the love of her life, Dr. John Ellis, on June 26, 1943. After John graduated from Baylor Dental School, he and Annette established a dental practice in Waco. She was his dental assistant and they worked together until 2000 when they retired. They gave every patient the best possible care and personal attention, and developed a successful practice in Waco. At the time of his retirement, he was the oldest practicing dentist in Waco.

John and Annette were avid world travelers who especially enjoyed going to Mexico. They liked staying in Acapulco where John enjoyed playing golf. They had a 1957 Thunderbird and were members of the Thunderbird Club. They were a loving couple who were deeply devoted to each other. They lived for each other.

Dr. Ellis passed away on Aug. 29, 2003. Shortly after his death, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and moved into Wesley Woods Alzheimer's Center which lovingly cared for her until her death. While she was able, she enjoyed participating in activities there and was once chosen their Valentine Sweetheart. She was a warm, caring person who has rejoined her precious John. They are now together forever. She leaves behind many friends who have many years of good memories of John and Annette.
