Billy Henry Stacy, born on February 24, 1941 in Buchanan County, VA, died June 13, 2020 at the age of 79. He was surrounded by his devoted family. Aggressive lung cancer, diagnosed one month ago, brought his family together in the home in his dying weeks. He passed peacefully and with an abundance of love. Bill was a retired miner, having worked for Clinch Valley Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA 6025 of Bishop, Virginia. He was also a US Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.

Bill was well known for his amassed collection of ’67, ’68, and ’69 Camaros and car parts. His passion was inside his garage. Everyone who met Bill loved him. He was an excellent story-teller and he had incredible life experiences to entertain just about anyone. He routinely took two hours getting ready to go eat or go just about anywhere he could smoke and people-watch. He was a favorite patron of the many restaurants he frequented.

Children held a special place in his heart and he would offend anyone to advocate for them. From buying drinks for all of the kids at the skating rink 30 years ago to giving five dollars to every child in Pizza Plus for games and quarter machines in his last months, he was always putting smiles on kids faces. His daughters and grandchildren were spoiled with anything they wanted, with the exception of holey jeans.

The love he had for our mother was inspiring. After almost fifty-one years of marriage, he still called her gorgeous or beautiful every time he saw her. He was in love with her from the day they met until the last beat of his heart.

Those preceding him in death include his parents, John Jefferson Stacy and Josephine Matney Stacy; his infant sister, Wilma Stacy; and three brothers, Harrial, John, and Wayne Stacy.

Those left to cherish his memory include:
