Mrs. Helton was born September 11, 1947 in Sylacauga, Alabama. She lived in Ft. Lauderdale before moving to Laurens County. She was a retired bartender at Shamrock Bowling Center and a member of Faith Christian Assembly. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Wilburn Downs, her mother Helen Downs, and her daughter Allison Shepherd. Mrs. Helton passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Helton is survived by her husband David Helton of East Dublin, daughters Renee Edwards (Kin) and Pam Howell (Tommy) both of East Dublin and Shannon Powers of Lake City, FL, a sister Diane Deese of Carrolton, GA, her 8 grandchildren Amber Newsome, Shay Howell Thigpen, Christina Hunter, Cammie Howell Thigpen, April Wilder, Brianna McDonald, Ryan Mayo, and Jake Edwards, 12 great grandchildren, and her fur babies Little Bit, Grayson, and Zane.
Pallbearers will be Alan Moore, Jake Edwards, Rex Watson, Seth Howell, Jake Howell, and Mike Hass.
Honorary pallbearers will be L.T. Logue, Brian Keith, William Hall, and Aron Barkwell.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 1:00 PM Wednesday until the visitation hour for friends who wish to pay their respects. Due to social distancing guidelines we will limit the amount of guest in the funeral home during these hours.
