MRS. RACHEL SMITH MONTAGUE PIONEER BURIED AT NOCONA

NOCONA, March 7, Funeral services were held for Mrs. Rachel A. Smith, 89, pioneer resident of Nocona, at the Nocona Cemetery Tuesday, conducted by Rev.C.E. Cogswell, minister Central Christian Church of this place.
Mrs. Smith died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R.B. Williams, at Weatherford, Oklahoma,Monday.
Deceased was the widow of the Rev. M.F. Smith, pioneer Christian preacher of Montague county, who died here the year of 1895. He served as postmaster of Nocona in early days of the town The Rev. and Mrs. Smith came to Nocona in 1887, being among the first residents here.
The following children of deceased survive: Mrs. S.J. Alexander of Nocona, Mrs. R.B. Williams of Weatherford, Okla., and Houston Baker ,Humphreys, Okla.
