Last Tuesday afternoon Patrick Conlan, a druggist of this city, locked up his store and took a large dose of morphine. Some of his neighbors suspected him and breaking in the door found him lying on a cot insensible. . . Drs. Kidd, Ellison and Griffin were at once summoned and did everything to resuscitate him but without avail, he dying about 8 p.m. . . Mr. Conlan had been a resident of Ellis for about 14 years. Lately he has met with business reverses and had been greatly depressed. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss.
