Arabella R Ramirez, 68, of Sunnyside, died Sunday, Jan 17, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Grandview.

She was born April 25, 1919 at Corius, Tamaulipas, Mexico and her earliest years were spent there. As a young girl she moved with her parents and family to the United States, making their home at Edinburg, Texas. On Dec 25, 1940, she married Leandro Ramirez at Edinburg and they made their home in Texas. In 1967, she moved to Sunnyside. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of Sunnyside.

Survivors are three sons, Leandro Ramirez, Jr. of Houston, TX, Evangelist Manuel Ramirez of Rupert, ID and Juan F Ramirez of Sunnyside; three daughters, San Juanita Ayala of Edinburg, and Blanca E. Campos and Dorinda Rodriguez, both of Sunnyside; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also surived by two brothers, Isreal Ruelas of Alvin, TX, and Juan Ruelas of Houseton, TX; one sister, Petra Veliz of Grandview and by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Guadalup Garza, and on daughter, Evangelina Ramirez.
Evening services were held Monday, Jan 18, and Tues, Jan 19, at 7 pm in the Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan 20, at 10 am in the Good Shepherd Church of Sunnyside. Evangelist Manuel Ramirez of the Penticostal Holiness Church of Rupert, Idaho; the Rev. Enrique Guillen of the Good Shepherd Church of Sunnyside; and the Rev. Marcelino Gonzalez of the Nueva Jerusalem Church of Grandview will officiate. Burial will be in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
