Sallie was first married to James A. Alexander. They had three children together: James A. Alexander, Thomas Henry Alexander, and E.E. Alexander. James Alexander Sr died not long after the war ended and a year after E.E died.

She then married Joseph Thomas "Tom" Moody.

According to his granddaughter, Arabelle Moody Slater, he and his wife are buried in Friendship Cemetery. I do not know if the grave is unmarked or just not photographed.

They had 5 children together: Robert Nathaniel Moody, John W. Moody, William Joseph Moody, Isaac "Ike" Walter Moody, Loransey Lee Moody.

After the death of Joseph Thomas Moody, it is said that the family sold the land and estate and moved to Texas. The small children and women came on the train to Texas. The brothers flipped a coin to see which of them would go with the women and Robert won. So Ike, Lee, and Tom went with the rest of the men to Tx by covered wagon. Each brother bought a farm and settled around Navarro County, Texas. This is the story my father passed down to me.

It appears she is listed as living with Lee in the 1910 censusin Navarro Co., TX. Robert was still in Mississippi in 1910. She must have been visiting Robert's family in Mississippi when she passed. "From an eye-witness account, Arabelle Moody Slater as a young girl of 13 and grand daughter to Sallie, said that she was talking to Sallie as she lay in bed. Suddenly Sallie began gagging and holding her hands to her throat. She may have choked to death on her false teeth as they could not find her teeth after she died.
She is buried in the Friendship Cemetary, Miss."

Obituary Sallie Moody:

"Sister Sallie Moody was born February 10, 1840. Died March 26, 1916. She was 76 years, one month and 16 days old. Sister Moody professed hope in Christ at the age of 16 years and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member throughout her life. She was married twice, 1st to James Alexander. To this union 3 children were born. After his death she was married to J. T. Moody. To this latter union 5 children were born. Sister Moody died very suddenly, being sick only about 5 minutes. She died at home of her son Robert Moody near New Albany, Mississippi. She was coming back to her sons, Bros, Lee and Ike Moody, in a short time, but the Lord willed otherwise, and called her from this low ground of sorrow to that mansion in the skies He would say to the 5 children who left to mourn for mother, to weep not as those who no hope, but live true Christian lives so that when Death Claims you you can meet dear old mother and live with her for ever in that home not made with hands.

How we miss our darling mother,
None on Earth can ever know.
Only those who've drunk the sorrow
And have felt the same sad blow.

Yet, again we hope to meet her,
On that bright eternal shore,
Where no sad farewells are spoken,
And where heartaches come no more
