Viola was the daughter of Albert S. and Polly Price. She married James Ira Douthit. He is also buried in Garden of Memories. After his death, she married Benjamin O. Hendon. He died 18 December 1936 and is buried in Ivie Baptist Church Cemetery in southeast Houston County. She died in Houston County and is buried between her sister, Jessie Lee Bishop and her daughter, Maydell Douthit Tharpe.

Mrs. Viola Hendon
Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Hendon, 75, of Grapeland, who died Friday, will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Grapeland with the Rev. Kenneth Mobley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Elkhart. The body will be at Hassell & Foster, Grapeland, until carried to the church for services.
Mrs. Hendon was born April 13, 1894 in Anderson County to the late Albert Price and Mrs. Polly Walling Price, and she died Friday at 4:10 p. m. in a Grapeland hospital following a short illness. For the past 19 years, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her husband, the late Ben Hendon, died in 1936.
Survivors include a son, Frankie Hendon of Crockett; a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Streetman, Grapeland; two brothers, Leathard Price and Willie Price, both of Conroe; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Bishop of Grapeland; five grandchildren.
