Cristina Arnieri, 83, of Lake in the Hills, passed away Thursday evening, May 21, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Rossano, Italy the daughter of Carmelo and Antonina (Carresa) Donato. Cristina was a loving wife, twin, sibling, aunt, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and the family Matriarch.

She married her husband Luigi in Italy in 1962. After a honeymoon in Naples, they headed to The United States to pursue their American Dream.
She mastered the language, raised a beautiful family of four children in a loving home while working various jobs.

Mom/Noni will be remembered as an amazing cook and nobody ever left hungry. She was generous and had a great sense of humor. She was skilled in anything she put her mind to. She was strong-willed and battled to the very end.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Luigi; four children, the late Rosa (Robert) Turano, Anthony Arnieri, Louis (Jenny) Arnieri, and Carmen (Amy) Arnieri; 7 grandchildren, Nicole (Adam) Filantres, Daniel (Marianna) Turano, Ashley (Ryan) Kearns, Haley Arnieri, Vincenzo Arnieri, Salvatore Arnieri, and Gianna Arnieri; 2 great-grandchildren, A.J. Filantres, and Noelle Kearns; her siblings, Maria, Bianca, Mimmo, and Lillo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and twin sister, Lina Nicolleti.
