Elizabeth was born in Georgia according to the Censuses of 1860 and 1900. She was born in Alabama according to the Censuses of 1870, 1880, and 1910. The ages shown on these censuses suggest a birth year from 1836 to 1842. The 1900 Census records her birth in March of 1839. She married Andrew W. Bean prior to 1858. They lived in Alexandria, LA with 2 toddler daughters in 1860. Andrew was killed during the Civil War. Their daughter, Louisiana "Lally" Bean, died during a battle which was fought in Elizabeth's yard. They had two children who survived the war, Martha Ann Bean (Self) and James Asbury Bean. Elizabeth married Bartley Enos Gilcrease in 1865. By 1870, they were living at Montgomery, LA with a growing family. Between 1880 and 1900 (probably mid-1880s), they moved to Texas. In 1900, they lived in Madison County, TX. In 1910, they lived in Anderson County, TX near sons Henry and Lieutelus. Presumably, they lived in the area of Elkhart, TX until their deaths.
