On Thursday, November 26,1998, MRS. LAURA ANN BURKE passed away peacefully at Vernon, B.C. Aged 98 years. Laura will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughter Alice (Francis) Harris of Charlotte Lake in the Chilcotin; son Clifford of Vernon; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Predeceased by husbands William Harkness in 1969 and Lawrence Burke in 1994. Born in the USA, Laura came to BC in the 1920's, living in various towns. She had resided in Armstrong for several years until moving to Vernon about five years ago. She enjoyed crochet, knitting and bingo. While in Armstrong, Laura was active in the Armstrong Seniors Complex. Funeral Services were held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 1998 at Mountain View Chapel, Armstrong. Reverend Jim Lochhead. Interment in family plot of Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Vernon. Arrangements in the care of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME, 546-8294.
