Mr. Briley was born in Farmersville, La., a son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Briley. He married Genevieve Bone on 30 Mar 1945, in Yuma, Ariz.
He was a retired U.S. Navy commander and a former resident of Paris.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Glenda Cervenka of Naperville, Ill.; three brothers, Marion Briley of Pineville, Ark., Hughes Briley of Monroe, La., and Earl Briley of Gainesville; four sisters, Hazel Landenau of Rayville, La., Lucy Wilkes of Start, La., Gladys Walker of Calhoun, La., and Mae Holder of Monroe, and three grandchildren.
