Levi Alvas Carnes, 74, a retired carpenter, died Thursday morning at his home. 1319 Crescent Rd., after a short illness.
Services will be held at 1 p. m. tomorrow at the Primitive Baptist church on Patrick St. Rev. Mr. Pendleton will officiate and burial will be in Huffman cemetery on Wills Creek. The body will remain at the Elk mortuary until time of services.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Jarrett Carnes; four sons, Herbert of Chicago, Enos of Jefferson, Md., B. F. and Eugene of Charleston; four daughters, Mrs. L. A. Willard, Mrs. Cline Elrod and Mrs. J. H. Cummings of Charleston, Mrs. C. M. Lehmann of Oakland, Cal.; three brothers, two sisters. 27 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
