Deceased Name: Vera King Bindrup

LAYTON, Utah Our sweet, gentle beloved mother and grandmother, Vera King Bindrup, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, three days before her 95th birthday at the Beehive Home in Layton, Utah.

Vera was born Aug. 28, 1905, in Logan, Utah, to William Farnes and Iduma Willie King.

On June 19, 1929, Vera married Nephi Vernon Bindrup in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on Aug. 22, 1967.

Vera was raised and educated in Buist, Idaho, until she was old enough to attend high school. She then moved into Logan and lived with her grandparents while attending high school. She dearly loved living out on the farm with her brothers and sisters. After her marriage, she lived in Logan and River Heights until 1956, when the family moved to Ogden.

She was a faithful member of the Washington Terrace 5th Ward and had served in all the church auxiliaries. She was a valiant visiting teacher until well into her nineties. She truly enjoyed attending the temple often, was famous for her many quilts, an excellent cook, and enjoyed dancing until the last few years of her life when her body wouldn't allow it. She enjoyed her family and their visits and her dear friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Ken and Janice, owners and managers of the Beehive Home, and Rose and Stephanie for their compassion and loving care of mother.

Surviving are six sons and two daughters, Verl (Betty) Bindrup, Logan; Reed (Karen) Bindrup, Providence; Darrel Bindrup, Roy; Cherril Buchanan, Ogden; Bill (Orell) Bindrup, Layton; Ina (Melvin) Murray, Roy; Kenneth (Pamala) Bindrup, Mtn. Green; Robert (Rhetta) Bindrup Middleton, Idaho; 37 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Vera is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Max King, Malad, Idaho; Owen King, Pocatello, Idaho; Grant King, Layton; Glenna Austin, Logan; Mary Lawrence, Summit, Utah.

Her husband, parents, one brother, three sisters, one grandson, and one great-grandson, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward Chapel, 350 W. 5100 South in Layton.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Interment is at the Providence/River Heights Cemetery.
