Owen Leslie King, 101, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018.

Owen was born October 13, 1917 in Logan, Utah to William Farnes and Iduma Willie King. He was raised on a farm at Buist Idaho between Arbon Valley and Malad, along with 9 siblings, Clara, Vera, Ronald, Glenna, Max, Ina, Arlene, Mary, and Grant. He is survived by a brother Grant.

Owen graduated from High School in Logan, Utah and attended Utah State Agricultural College before being drafted in the U.S. Army August 1, 1945. He returned to U.S.A.C. and graduated with a B.S. degree in Soils & Agronomy.

Owen married Jean Lois Humphreys June 26, 1947 in the Logan Temple, they enjoyed 43 years together until her death on May 13, 1990.

He and Jean have 5 children, Bruce Lynn (Elaine) King, Christine (James) Auger, Linda Jean King, Michael Owen (Jodi) King, and Jerry William King. They have 18 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

On January 20, 1994 he married Helen Margaret Ivie Dredge they had enjoyed 20 years together when she died October 2014.

She brought 7 more children to the family, Anita Ruth (Darrell Eugene) Bingham, Cheryl (Frank) Hardway, Andy, Terry, Stephen (Janile), Mary (Daryl) Cook, and Wilford (Val).

Owen worked in Soil Conservation with the B.I.A. living in Montana, New Mexico, and South Dakota and has lived in Pocatello, Idaho since 1969. He spent many years working and overseeing the Church Welfare Farm here (his most favorite assignment). He enjoyed being an Officiator (1976) and later a Sealer (1979) in the Idaho Falls Temple. September 13, 1983 he was ordained a Stake Patriarch.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clara, Vera, Ronald, Glenna, Max, Ina, Arlene, Mary; daughter-in-law, Charlette Ann (Bruce's wife); and grandson, Roy Halladay Jr. (Linda's son).

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue Pocatello, Idaho.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 550 West Cedar Street Pocatello, Idaho, with a viewing for one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 South 5th Avenue Pocatello, Idaho.
