Jack Klar, age 64, of Marshalltown, died on morning, May 18th, at the UnityPoint Health Marshalltown. In honoring his wishes, no services will be held at this time. Private family services will be held when travel can be arranged.

Born on July 30th, 1955, in Marshalltown, he was one of four boys born to Cecil and Lila (Maynard) Klar. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School. Jack was employed by the City of Marshalltown and later the Iowa Veterans Home in the dietary department.

On August 18th, 1978, he married Hazel Diller Sawyer. They made their home in Marshalltown all of their married lives.

Surviving are Hazel, his wife of 41 years; three children, Jenny Sawyer (John Litscomb) of Garland, Texas, Jamie (Dave) Morris of Fredericksburg, Maryland, and Jeremiah Klar at home; two grandchildren; brother Tom of Crystal Springs, Florida; and sister-in-law Arvella of Marshalltown.

In death, Jack rejoined his parents and two brothers.
