He was retired from the Hart County Road Department after 36 years of service, member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Mt. Sherman and a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnetta Gardner Ard; his parents, Arthur Uell Ard and Ethel Roten Ard Hawk; a sister, Ruth Turner and two brothers, Allen Ard and James Ard.
He is survived by his daughter, Reba (Wayne) Doyle of Upton; his grandson, Chris (Lacey) Doyle of Hodgenville; two brothers, Tom Ard of Hodgenville and Coman (Charlotte) Ard of Magnolia; two great-grandchildren, William DeWayne Doyle and Amelia Grace Doyle and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In accordance with the governor’s mandate, private family graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Hammonsville Cemetery in Hart County
