Anne (Annie) Altstadt passed away on Nov. 14th, 2006. She was born June 14th, 1927 in Herbert, Sask. Anne first came to Kelowna in 1946 with her sister Lena & husband Fran Haufman.
She was predeceased by her half brother Tommy Ransom, her mother Sarah Ransom, step father Charles Ransom and her father Francis Penner. Her brother and sister-in-law Ben & Beryl Penner, sister Lena & Fran Haufman, Frank Penner. Brother in law Ron Kienlein, nephew Alvin Kienlein, nephew Mark Ransom, and twin half brothers Wally and Walter.
Anne is survived by her 5 children and 16 grandchildren. Bruce & Liz (Christina & Heather) Altstadt of Vernon, daughter and son-in-law Donna & John Sanesh of Lumby, Brenda & Doug Trendall (Linda, Jaimie, Mindy, Dana, Cody, Rebecca & Chelsea) of Edmonton Alta, Dennis & Kathy (Cameron, Kayla) of Vernon, Calvin & Maureen (Josh, Emma & Sophie) of Vernon. Mom is further survived by her half sister, Vivian Kienlein and sons Kevin, Greg & Kathy and sons, all of Vernon. Sister-in-law Inge Penner of Kelowna and sister in law Justina Altstadt at the coast, and Rena Ransom of Vernon, also by many nieces and nephews.
Anne worked as a Waitress, Dental Technician, and in the canneries in Kelowna. She was also a chambermaid at the Allison and the Sandman Inn for many years. She raised 5 kids had BIG gardens. At the end of her workings career she enjoyed her garden, bingo and her OAP meetings.
In lieu of flowers. Please make donations to the Alzheimer Society. A celebration of her life was held at the Schubert Centre, on Friday, Nov. 17th. Arrangements in care of Vernon Funeral Home.
