Edith Louise McBride was born October 6, 1933, in Dexter, Missouri, to John Thomas and Clara Louise (Jens) Masterson and passed away in Willow Springs, Missouri on January 26, 2021, at the age of 87. She was united in marriage to Ernest Jay McBride on March 17, 1955, and to this union, seven children were born.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Jay McBride; son, Ernest McBride; daughter, Clara Johnston; granddaughter, Christina McBride; two brothers; and four sisters.

Edith is survived by her sons, Stanley McBride of Mountain View, MO, Thomas McBride of Plainview, AR, Benny McBride of Mountain View, MO; daughters, Opal Schultz of Mountain View, MO, Penny Gutscher and husband David of Spokane, MO; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

While she was raising her family, she worked at the Angelica Factory in Mountain View and then went on to receive her GED. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Mountain View. Edith had a serving heart and loved to volunteer at OMC Thrift Store and Meals on Wheels at the Senior Center. She and Jane Foval also started the Well Baby Clinic.

Edith loved to sew and help people out in any way she could. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Pastor Dennis Walton officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service also at the chapel. Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
