Obituary:
James Edward Sosebee, Sr., age 77, of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020.

He was born on Friday, August 14, 1942, in Atlanta, the son of the late Howard Sosebee and the late Mary Bryant Sosebee.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; a daughter-in-law, Trish Sosebee; a grandson, Christopher Morris; and a great grandson, Gavin Morris.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Joe Hadley of Dallas and Mary Alice Fields and David Greenway of Cedartown; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Edward Sosebee, Jr., and Bryan and Elaine Sosebee all of Buchanan; three sisters, Ethel Stanford of Tennessee, Ruth Cleveland of Atlanta, and Virginia Garmon of Norcross; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 12 from Buchanan City Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Reverend Homer Wysner officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the service hour.

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we want to encourage everyone to stay safe and make the best decisions possible. If anyone wishes to attend these gatherings, please remain 6 feet away from those not in your own household and wear personal protective garments if available.
