John was a USN WWII Veteran. He married Fannie F. Daniell on 23 Dec 1947 in Lubbock County, Texas. He was raised by his mother and step-father. He is the first child born to his biological father, John Henry Clayton, Jr. and his mother, Alta Boteler. A younger brother was born from this union and he had many half-brothers and half-sisters from his parents subsequent marriages. He and his wife had no issue.
