The New London Day [newspaper], March 7, 2012: Dale K. "Deke" Clachrie, age 58, beloved husband of Julie (Knight) Clachrie of Champlin Drive, Westerly [Rhode Island], passed away at the Westerly Hospital, Monday, March 5, 2012. Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Robert and Phyllis Clachrie. Dale worked as a marine mechanic for Connors & O'Brien Marina for many years. He was a member of the Pawcatuck [Connecticut] Working Men's Club and was the former owner of Mystic Harbor Boat Works. Deke loved being on his boat and would spend many weekends at Sandy Point. In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his sons, Justin Clachrie of Waterford [Connecticut], and [step-son] Deon Bowen of Westerly; his step-sons, Jason DePerry of Westerly and Joshua DePerry of Pawcatuck; brothers, Gordan "Zak" Clachrie and Robert "Pete" Clachrie both of Pawcatuck; as well as ten grandchildren; and his step-mother, Geraldine Clachrie of Prudence Island, Rhode Island. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, Westerly. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at the Harley P. Chase VFW Post No. 1265, Pawcatuck.
