James A. Keefer, 79, of Mercersburg, PA died April 6, 2020 at Quincy Village, Quincy, PA. He had resided there for the past several months.

Born February 10, 1941 in Mercersburg, he was a son of the late Robert H. and Hilda P. (Higgins) Keefer.

James had been employed for 37 years at the former James River Corporation, Chambersburg, PA, until its closing. He then worked at Food Lion of Greencastle, PA. He was a US Navy veteran.

James enjoyed the outdoors and working on his John Deere 60. He enjoyed attending antique tractor events, hunting, cookouts and family gatherings, and watching wrestling and westerns on television

He attended Mt. Calvary Tabernacle of Williamson, PA.

Surviving family include his wife, Delores R. (Carbaugh) Keefer, whom he married April 14, 1963. Daughter, Sherri L. & husband Randy S. Zeger of Lemasters, PA, son, Alvin L., Sr. and wife Wanda K. Keefer, of Mercersburg, four grandchildren, Megan Leidy, Luke Leidy, Cassandra & husband Andrew Furry, Alvin L. Keefer, Jr., and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Remington Furry.

James was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and John Keefer.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
