Uncle Jim Cooper left Iola, Kansas on September 6,1918 to Camp Junction, Kansas, 16th Company. He wasn't there but a short time until a new diease of the flu broke out. The doctors were at a loss to know what to do as it was a new diease. the boys were dying like flies. Caskets were piled high on top of each other and ambulances worked around the clock. Uncle Jim died October 12,1918.
