FUNERAL HELD FOR RESIDENT OF CITY, 87

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret M. Simon, 87, of the city and formerly of St. Kilian, who died Saturday at St. Agnes Hospital, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller’ Funeral Home, Kewaskum, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian.

The concelebrated white funeral Mass was read by the Rev. George Etzel of Ashford assisted by the Rev. Raphael Hockhaus, SJ. Of Mankato, Minn., a nephew of Mrs. Simon, and Father Ronald, Cap., of Mount Calvary. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Simon was born in the Town of Ashford on Jan. 8, 1884, a daughter of Daniel and Mary Bonlender Schrauth. She was married to Frank J. Simon at St. Kilian Catholic Church on May 16, 1905.

The couple lived in and around the St. Kilian area. Mr. Simon died in 1950 and Mrs. Simon moved to the city three years ago. She was a member of St. Mary’s Society of the St. Kilian Congregation.

Survivors include four daughters, Sister M. Thecla, CSA, Sister M. Angelica, OFA, Miss Odelia Simon all of the city and Sister M. Ambrose, OFA, of Two Rivers; four sons, Conrad of Wauwatosa, Andrew of Lomira, Bernard of St. Kilian, and Father Ambrose, OFM Cap, of Bluefield, Nicaragua, in Central America.

Other survivors are three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Miss Frances Schrauth; and three brothers, Joseph, Kilian and Roman.

Miller’s Funeral Home of Kewaskum was in charge of funeral arrangements.
