William Vance Hopkins Jr., 70, of 36 Hamilton Harbor Drive, Lake Wylie, S.C., died Jan. 9, 2009, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, S.C.
Hopkins was born July 11, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to the late William Vance Hopkins Sr. and Helen Shaw Hopkins. He attended the University of Iowa and Drake University. Mr. Hopkins was part owner of Hopkins Insurance Agency in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a professional photographer in Des Moines, Lake Panorama, Iowa and also in Lake Wylie.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Norris of Des Moines, Iowa; son, William T. Hopkins of Urbandale, Iowa; mother, Helen S. Hopkins of Lake Wylie; sister, Jerene McClain of Lake Wylie; and three grandchildren.
