Mary passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in Arlington, Texas with her sons by her side.

Mary was born on March 20, 1930 and grew up in San Francisco California and graduated from San Jose State College. She moved to Oklahoma to marry Milton Brooks and then moved to Chelsea in 1964. Mary worked as a teacher in Chelsea Public Schools for over 30 years. Teaching special education, first and second grades. She earned a Master’s degree in education from Tulsa University.

Mary has lived in Arlington, Texas, since her retirement and was very active in various social clubs. She was a member of the Theatre Arlington Guild and appeared in a couple of Theater Arlington plays where she won a local theatre award for her performance in a Christmas musical.
Her hobbies include quilting, theater, NASCAR, mahjong, and canasta.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Brooks, Jerry Brooks, and Andrew Brooks, daughter-in-law Lynette Brooks and two granddaughters, Cherish and Celeste Brooks.
