Donald Ray Cagle, Sr., 84, of Seagrove, died Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.

A private Graveside Service will be held.

Donald was a native of Randolph County, a member of Union Grove Christian Church, and a member of the Randolph Cattle Association. He spent his time working as an employee of Klopman Mills and as a lifelong chicken farmer. He enjoyed hunting quail, watching Duke Basketball, and cheering on the New York Yankees baseball team.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cagle, son, Donald Cagle Jr., parents, Charles and Ethel King Cagle, sisters, Frances McNeill, Helen Needham, Edna Garner, brothers, Edward, Wayne, Clarence, and Talton Cagle.

Survivors: daughter, Michelle Phillips, and husband, Eddie, of Asheboro, step daughter, Lisa Love Laughlin, grandchildren, Julia N. Cagle, Dylan R. Cagle, step granddaughter, Ashley P. Joyner, sister-in-law, Stella G. Cagle, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sherry Williams for her outstanding care and compassion.
