Mrs. Charla Renee Young, 58, of Hickory, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem. She was born October 29, 1952 in Lincolnton to Lander Blair and Annis Grayson Arthurs. Charla was a graduate of West Lincoln High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Young and her father.
Survivors include son, Chesley Walls and wife, Beverly of Cherryville; daughter, Chrissie Ward and husband, Tim of Tuttle, Okla.; three grandchildren, Katie Walls, Brent Walls and Lance Wilds; mother and stepfather, Annis Grayson Black and Gil Dale of Morganton; brother, Chuck Black of Greensboro and sister, Julie Hefner of Hickory.
A celebration of Charla's life and visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 12:00 noon until 6 p.m. at Charla's home, 5585 George Henry Drive in Hickory.
