Mrs. Read was a daughter of the late William Studebaker Innis, and Elizabeth (Wheeler) Innis, and she lived in South Kingstown since 1947.
Mrs. Read was owner of a women's clothing store, "Country Clothes," for many years.
She leaves two daughters, Elizabeth Read Frost of Narragansett, and Anne Bliss Hoffman of West Newton, Mass.; a brother, Peter Studebaker Innis; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. She was the mother of the late Frederic Bliss Read II.
A memorial service was held Thursday at the Church of the Ascension, Main Street. South Kingstown.
