Peter Studebaker Innis of Snug Harbor, Rhode Island died peacefully on July 17, 2016.

Born on February 28, 1926 to William S. and Elizabeth W. Innis of Providence and Watch Hill.

He is survived by his children from a previous marriage, Sara Innis (Oakland, CA), Margaret Scott (Houston, TX), Peter Innis, Jr. (Las Vegas, NV) and John Innis (Long Island, NY), grandsons Mack Kary, Andrew Kary and Randy Innis, great-granddaughter, Elliot Margaret Innis, nieces and nephews, Janet Innis, Michael Innis, Will Innis and Bliss Hoffman as well as an extended family of great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William R. Innis, sister, Elizabeth I. Read, nieces Tina Frost and Leslie McCook, and the love of his life, Frances Sammartino Innis.

Following several years in the Navy he graduated from Yale in 1949 and began a 42 year career in sales and marketing for the Fram Corporation (Allied Bendix) that took him to Texas, Louisiana and Kansas City before returning him to Rhode Island. He was a long-standing member of the Hope Club, Twelfth Knight Club, Dunes Club, Agawam Hunt Club, and the Willow Dell Beach Club, and served on the Board of the Special Olympics for many years. Peter was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, enjoyed fly fishing and deep water fishing here and abroad and loved a good scotch with family and friends.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 20th in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd. Providence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Special Olympics, RI, 370 George Waterman Highway #1, Smithfield, RI 02917. mdsfh.com
