Prince Frederick of Prussia was the fourth son of Crown Prince Wilhelm of Germany and Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. He renounced his German citizenship in 1947 and was naturalized as a British citizen in October 1947 under the name Friedrich von Preussen. He was married at Little Hadham, Hertfordshire on July 30, 1945, to Lady Brigid Guinness, daughter of Rupert Guinness, 2nd Earl of Iveagh, and his wife, Lady Gwendolen Onslow, daughter of William Onslow, 4th Earl of Onslow.
