George worked for the Washington County Highway Department until his retirement. He was a member of Deucher Baptist Church and was a member of the Matamoras Lodge #374 F&AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family. George never knew a stranger.
George will be deeply missed by his wife Judy; daughter, Kelley (Billy) Graham and grandson Christopher, several nieces, nephews, in-laws and a brother and sister.
George was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alfred and five sisters and two brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland and Marietta Memorial Hospital for their care. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be no visitation or services. Private burial will be held in Newport Cemetery. A celebration of life will be at a later time.
