On April 14, 2020, Angels came to get Mrs. Mary Leo Greenhaw Whisenant. She was born on March 30, 1923, to Joseph Archie and Martha Leo Wilson Greenhaw of Union Grove, AL. She married Roy Howard Whisenant on October 22, 1939.

The couple had 3 children and lived most of their lives in Arab, AL. Mr. Whisenant died on Oct. 14, 1998. Mary faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Arab for over 50 years. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and raising her two daughters and son.

She loved caring for children and was employed by Great Day Kindergarten in Arab for over 30 years. She also devoted many hours to the nursery of the First Baptist Church. Many adults in Arab today fondly remember their kindergarten years with Miss Mary, the affectionate name by which she was known.

Miss Mary was predeceased by her husband, her parents and two brothers Robert W. Greenhaw (Nova) and Joseph Glenn Greenhaw (Lu).

She is survived by her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, a sister, sister in law, nieces and nephews. The family will say their final goodbyes in a Private Graveside Service in the the Arab Memorial Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
