Mrs. Effie Fries, 86, of 1619 1/2 S. 6th St. died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Madison County Nursing Home, Edwardsville.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Hilda F. Taylor, of Springfield; two sons, George, of Stickney; and Albert, of Wood River; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were at the Hebenstreit Funeral Home in Gillespie.
Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.
