Obit - Star-Gazette, Elmira - 17 May 1893. Death of Isaac Manning. Communicated, Isaac Manning, familiarly known as Judge Manning, an aged and respected resident of Sullivanville, N. Y., died at his late home at an early hour Tuesday morning, May 9th, after a long and painful illness, caused by cancer of the stomach, from which he suffered about two years. Mr. Manning was born in Steuben county, May 6, 1827. In 1838 he moved with his parents to Hector, Schuyler county, where he resided until 1846, when he moved to Barton, Tioga county, N. Y. On March 8, 1858, he married Miss Lucy Fuller of Barton, who died in 1870. In 1872 he married Mrs. Mary Leonard of Sullivanville, Chemung county, where he moved soon after, and where he spent the remainder of his life.
He was one of a family of eight children of whom three survive him: Eli, who resides at Halsey Valley; Abraham and Levi of Waverly. He leavest a widow and one daughter, Anna, a child of his first wife. The deceased was a kind husband, a loving father, and a man of the strictest integrity. His genial manner, kind heartedness and cheerful nature, won for him a large circle of friends.
The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church at Sullivanville, Thursday. Rev. J. C. Russell of Horseheads officiated. The burial was in Veteran cemetery.
