FRINNIE BLACKBURN
(1912-2004)
Frinnie Blackburn, 91, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 22, 1912, in Pike County, Ky., to the late Wayne Blackburn and Victoria Maynard Blackburn. He was the former owner of Blackburn's Market in New Boston, of the Baptist faith since 1953 and a member of the Mount Hope Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine L. Ferrel Blackburn who he married May 8, 1997, in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Also surviving are three sons, Gary (Heidi) Blackburn, Roger (Loretta) Blackburn and Wayne Jefferson Blackburn; grandchildren, Barry Blackburn, Cheryl Collins, Alyssa (Brett) Boverick, Nathan Blackburn, Cindy (Dean) Mefford, Crystal (Herby) Pistole, Alexis Blackburn and Aaron Blackburn; and six great-grandchildren, Amber Dowdy, David Lee Dowdy, Chandra Collins, Nathosha Collins, Kalie and Kahau Blackburn.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Hurst Blackburn; second wife, Anna Burchett Blackburn; three sisters, Verdi Thornsberry, Effie Crigger and Bradie McManaway; and six brothers, Enoch Blackburn, Melvin Blackburn, Willy "Bill" Blackburn, Hassel Blackburn, Ernel Blackburn and Luther Blackburn.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Mark Stapleton officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 9 pm. and one hour before the service on Saturday.
