Jerry L. Best, 76, of Tovey, IL passed from this life at 925 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2020 at home in Tovey.
He was born in Tovey, IL April 5, 1943 the son of James “Gibby” and Reba (Smith) Best. Mr. Best Graduated from Taylorville High School with the Class of 1961. Jerry married Jean Iverson October 26, 1985 in Tovey and they enjoyed 34 years together.
Mr. Best was an avid cyclist, he enjoyed going to the YMCA in Taylorville and he loved being outdoors, doing yard work and especially spending time with family. Jerry honorable served in the U. S. Air Force.
Surviving are his beloved wife Jean of Tovey, IL 2 children Jerry Michael Best of Monroe City, MO and Elijah Reed Best of Springfield, IL 2 grandchildren Issac Best and Amariyah Best a brother Larry (Becky) Best of Springfield, IL and 2 sisters Marilyn (Stan) Sheldon of Taylorville, IL and JoAnn Bowsher of Pawnee, IL along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date. Masterson Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Kincaid, IL is honored to be entrusted with his care.
