Mr. Benish had been hospitalized there five days, and had undergone surgery on Monday. Previously, he had been a patient at Memorial Hospital in Sidney for five months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at two o'clock at the Gehrig and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. C. Fred Parks of Christ Episcopal church will officiate Burial will be in the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family has designated Memorial Hospital Rest Home as a memorial.
Mr. Benish was born in Chicago Nov. 18, 1874, the son of Anton and Jessie Benish. The family moved to Iowa in 1879, and came to Cheyenne County in 1886. Since that time the Benish family has been prominently identified with farming activities in the north Potter community.
In 1909, Mr. Benish married Anna Petrzilka at Chicago. Mrs. Benish died a number of years ago.
In addition to farming, Mr. Benish had engaged in business in Sidney for a number of years. However, he had been retired from active business and farming activities for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Viola, of Sidney; three brothers, Anton, Joseph and William, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Nelson and Mrs. John Nelson, all of Potter.
