Elster Adkins, age 89, of Pikeville, KY., passed from this life, Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Elster was born in Pike County, KY., to the late Abner and Bessie "Justice" Adkins, May 9, 1930.
Besides both parents, Elster is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lenore Adkins; brothers, Ralph Adkins, Abner Adkins Jr., Ronald Edward Adkins, Dorse Gene Adkins; sister, Avalene Stalker.
Elster is survived by his son, Glen Adkins and his wife, Jackie; granddaughter, Glenda Robinson and her husband, Nick; grandsons, Nicholas and Jaxon Robinson; sister, Vestalene Hall.
Elster served his nation proudly in the US Marines. Elster was a loving father, treasured grandfather and a cherished great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private family funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 27, 2020, with the entombment following at Annie E. Young Cemetery in the JU Thacker Mausoleum. Arrangements are entrusted by Thacker Memorial Inc.
